Carmela
At the heart of our women's cooperative in Lima is our coordinator Carmela, whose tireless commitment and organizational talent coordinates the work of over 26 skilled knitters. Together with Hilda, she carefully directs the flow of orders, always making sure that each knitter receives tasks that perfectly match her skills. This meticulous allocation and preparation, including choosing the right amount and quality of wool for each piece, is fundamental to the high level of our products.
Weekly Meetings: Quality and Community
The quality of our knitwear is further reinforced by the weekly meetings that Carmela holds in San Martín. These gatherings are essential for sharing experiences, checking progress and passing on knitting techniques. These moments of exchange not only contribute to community but also ensure the excellence of each of our products.
After the knitwear is finished, Carmela takes over quality control and ensures that the proceeds are distributed fairly to our knitters. Her commitment also extends to the sustainable use of resources by using surplus wool for smaller knitwear such as wrist warmers, baby shoes and hats. Carmela's dedication not only guarantees outstanding quality, but also sustainability and care in every step - from production to the final product.
